What this policy covers
This policy applies to strategy guides, rules explanations, puzzle notes, deal analysis and original research published on FreeCell Now. Game interface copy and purely functional labels are maintained as product content rather than editorial articles.
Who publishes the content
FreeCell Now is the publisher and public editorial identity for content on freecellnow.com. Where a page contains original FreeCell Now research, it is identified as such and linked to the relevant methodology where available.
How factual claims are handled
We aim to separate three kinds of information clearly: established FreeCell rules and mechanics, original FreeCell Now analysis, and historical or third-party claims. Claims that depend on an external source should be linked or attributed where a suitable source is available.
For claims that can be tested directly in the game, the implemented game behaviour and repeatable deal positions are used as practical validation. For research claims, the dataset scope, method, version and limitations should be documented alongside the result.
Puzzle and deal verification
FreeCell Now puzzle positions are based on specific Microsoft FreeCell deals. The project maintains automated checks that verify the published puzzle states against their source deals and replay the stored continuations through to a win.
This validation is intended to prevent a puzzle from being published with an impossible state, a mismatched source deal or an unverified winning continuation.
Original research
The FreeCell Deal Difficulty Index is original computational analysis produced by FreeCell Now. Its methodology is versioned and described separately on the DDI Methodology page.
Research outputs should state important limitations. A DDI score, for example, is a comparative difficulty signal from a deterministic analysis model; it is not presented as proof of an optimal move count or as a complete model of human difficulty.
Updates and corrections
Content may be updated when the game implementation changes, new analysis becomes available, a source is improved or an error is identified. Material research changes should be reflected through versioning or an update note rather than being presented as if the previous result never existed.
Substantive corrections and research updates are tracked on Corrections & Updates. Readers can report issues at [email protected].
Commercial independence
FreeCell Now is currently presented as a free browser game and information resource. If a page later includes a material sponsorship, paid placement, affiliate relationship or other commercial arrangement that could affect how a recommendation is interpreted, that relationship should be disclosed on the relevant page.
